Original compositions
As part of its brief of supporting and promoting endeavour in the arts in Western Australia, NoFCAD Inc regularly commissions original musical compositions – for children’s string orchestra of course!
In this way NoFCAD is able to provide opportunities to composers to apply their skills and develop professionally, while building a store of original Western Australian repertoire for The String Beans to draw on.
NoFCAD runs a series of workshops in which the String Beans workshop the new composition, adding improvised drama based on a theme emerging from the music.
NoFCAD is proud of this growing body of work. There is scope in the future to publish the works in a collection.
NoFCAD will call for expressions of interest for the 2010 commission in March-April.
